IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS
Yoga Nidra, also known as yogic sleep, begins with gentle and restorative postures that begin to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system. You will begin your practice by creating a Sankalpa. A sankalpa is a heartfelt desire, a solemn vow, an intention, or a resolve to do something. Students are then guided through a rotation of consciousness, breath awareness and imagery meant to move their minds between wakefulness and sleep to a state of deep conscious awareness. It is said to relax the body and mind, help with insomnia, reduce stress and anxiety to name a few benefits.
